THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF OS/2
Заповедь 1 / Commandment #1:
Исход 20:1-3 И изрек Бог все слова сии, говоря: Я Господь, Бог твой, Который вывел тебя из Виндоуз, из дома рабства; да не будет у тебя других операционных систем пред лицом Моим.
Exodus 20:1-3 And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Windows, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other operating systems before me.

    I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
  3. Да не будет у тебя других богов пред лицом Моим.
    Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Заповедь 2 / Commandment #2:
Исход 20:4-6 Не делай себе образов дискет DOS и никакого изображения того, что на небе вверху, и что в Windows на десктопе, и что в MSDOS ниже земли; не поклоняйся им и не используй их.
Exodus 20:4-6 Thou shalt not make unto thee any DOS disk image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in Windows beneath, or that is in the MSDOS under the earth. And shewing mercy unto thy RAM that love me, and keep my commandments.
  1. Не делай себе кумира и никакого изображения того, что на небе вверху, и что на земле внизу, и что в воде ниже земли;
    Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
  2. Не поклоняйся им и не служи им; ибо Я Господь, Бог твой, Бог ревнитель, наказывающий детей за вину отцов до третьего и четвертого рода, ненавидящих Меня,
    Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
  3. И творящий милость до тысячи родов любящим Меня и соблюдающим заповеди Мои.
    And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Заповедь 3 / Commandment #3:
Исход 20:7 Не используй место на диске твоем напрасно, ибо OS/2 не оставит без наказания того, кто занял место для SWAPPER.DAT напрасно.
Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take up hard drive space in vain; for OS/2 will not hold him guiltless that takes away from SWAPPER.DAT in vain.
  1. Не произноси имени Господа, Бога твоего, напрасно; ибо Господь не оставит без наказания того, кто произносит имя Его напрасно.
    Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Заповедь 4 / Commandment #4:
Исход 20:8-11 Помни седьмое прерывание, чтобы чтить его; с шестью прерываниями работай, и делай в них всякие дела твои, а седьмое прерывание -- для принтера, и не занимай его ни ты, ни сын твой, ни дочь твоя, ни раб твой, ни рабыня твоя, ни скот твой, ни пришлец, который в жилищах твоих; ибо в шести прерываниях разместил Господь дисковод, и мышь, и все, что между ними, а через седьмое прерывание печатал: посему благословил Господь IRQ7 и освятил его.
Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the seventh IRQ, to keep it holy. Six IRQ's shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh IRQ is the sabbath of the printer and in it thou shalt not put any card, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six IRQ's the LORD made floppy drive, the mouse, and all that in them is, and printed on the seventh IRQ: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath IRQ, and hallowed it.

    Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

    But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
  4. Ибо в шесть дней создал Господь небо и землю, море и все, что в них; а в день седьмой почил; посему благословил Господь день субботний и освятил его.
    For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Заповедь 5 / Commandment #5:
Исход 20:12 Почитай процессор твой и кеш твой, чтобы продлились дни твои в конференциях, которые Господь, Бог твой, дает тебе.
Exodus 20:12 Honour thy CPU and thy cache: that thy days may be long upon the netnews which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
  1. Почитай отца твоего и мать твою, [чтобы тебе было хорошо и] чтобы продлились дни твои на земле, которую Господь, Бог твой, дает тебе.

Заповедь 6 / Commandment #6:

Заповедь 9 / Commandment #9:
Исход 20:16 Не произноси ложного свидетельства на ресурсожрущие программы: раз двое юзеров решат, что из программы память течет, то следует в Интернет поместить ее, где несравненно более будет причитаний и скрежета зубовного.
Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear resource hogging programs. If two users are in agreement that a program sucks down RAM, then it shall be posted on the Internet, where there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Заповедь 10 / Commandment #10:
Исход 20:17 Не желай компьютера ближнего твоего; не желай видеокарты ближнего твоего, ни скази-диска его, ни сидирома его, ни памяти его, [ни всякого UPS его,] ничего, что у ближнего твоего.
Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's computer, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's video card, nor his SCSI drive, nor his CDROM drive, nor his RAM, nor his UPS, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
  1. Не желай дома ближнего твоего; не желай жены ближнего твоего, [ни поля его,] ни раба его, ни рабыни его, ни вола его, ни осла его, [ни всякого скота его,] ничего, что у ближнего твоего.
    Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
